Wedding Film — Columbia Gorge, Oregon
Golden Hour Vows
Overview
Maya and Jon married at an orchard venue above the Columbia River with ninety guests and one non-negotiable: no staged moments. Coverage ran from morning preparations through a sparkler exit, with two cameras on the ceremony and a dedicated audio rig on the officiant and couple.
The edit centers on their self-written vows, recorded clean on lavalier mics, cut against portrait footage shot in the last twenty minutes of daylight. The result plays like the day felt — unhurried, sun-struck and loud in all the right places.
The Challenge
Harsh noon light, tender evening
The ceremony sat at 2pm under open sky — the hardest light of the day. Rather than fight it, the plan embraced contrast for the ceremony and saved the soft, directional work for a twenty-minute portrait window after dinner, when the gorge glows amber.
The Approach
Invisible by design
Long lenses kept the cameras out of the guests' eyelines. Vows and speeches were captured on three independent audio sources, and the drone flew once — a single establishing pass at dusk — so the day never felt like a production.
